NOVELTY - Catalyst for the direct hydration reaction of cyclohexene comprises tin-containing compound, an organic ligand, an alkali and a carbon carrier in the mass ratio of 1:1-35:1-35:1-70. The organic ligand comprises benzoic acid, phthalic acid, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, trimesitrinic acid, biphenyl dicarboxylic acid and 2-methylimidazole. USE - The catalyst is useful in the direct hydration reaction of cyclohexene. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple and environmentally friendly, and economical. In the process of direct hydration of cyclohexene to prepare cyclohexanol, the catalyst has excellent activity and selectivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparing the catalyst for cyclohexene direct hydration reaction comprising (a) stirring the carbon carrier and the solvent in the mass ratio of 1-35:70 in an open container, and (b) mixing and dissolving the tin-containing compound, alkali and organic ligand in the solution under the condition of 60-90℃ water bath, and stirring in an open container for 5-120 minutes to prepare the catalyst precursor, where the mass percentage concentration of the tin-containing compound in the prepared precursor is 1-45%, and the mass percentage concentration of the organic ligand compound is 1-45%, washing, drying and calcining the obtained mixture to obtain the catalyst.
