NOVELTY - A battery electrode composition includes core-shell composite particles (102) comprising a core (104) and a shell (106), where the core comprises graphene and lithium sulfide active material, and the shell comprises a metal oxide and/or a metal oxyfluoride. ADVANTAGE - The battery electrode has improves electrochemical reversibility by eliminating or preventing polysulfide anion precipitation on the anode surface via electrolyte additives to dissolve insulating sulfur-containing precipitates.
