NOVELTY - A reinforced polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate composite staple fiber comprises 30-50 pts. wt. polyethylene, 35-50 pts. wt. polyethylene terephthalate, 8-15 pts. wt. graphene, 10-18 pts. wt. modified carbon nanofiber, 8-15 pts. wt. composite antibacterial agent, 6-10 pts. wt. halogen-free flame-retardant, 5-10 pts. wt. toughening agent, 3-8 pts. wt. compatibility agent, 2-5 pts. wt. antioxidant and 0.1-2.5 pts. wt. other additive. USE - Reinforced polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate composite staple fiber. ADVANTAGE - The reinforced polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate composite staple fiber has excellent mechanical property, antibacterial performance and flame retardance, and is free of halogen. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the reinforced polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate composite staple fiber, which involves: (A) weighing the above-mentioned components; (B) drying polyethylene in a blast dryer at 110-120 degrees C for 1-3 hours, and drying polyethylene terephthalate at 115-130 degrees C for 2-4 hours; (C) adding the dried polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate to a high-speed mixer, adding the remaining components, mixing and stirring for 5-15 minutes to obtain a blended material; and (D) adding the blended material to a twin-screw extruder, followed by spinning, washing, oiling, crimping, drying, and cutting, where the screw extruder temperature is 150-290 degrees C, the aperture of the spinneret is 10-60 mu m, the length of the orifice capillary is 400-600 mu m, the stretching ratio of the nozzle is 2.6-3, the fiber oiling rate is 0.3-0.4%, the air gap length is 50-200 mm, and the spinning speed is 150-180 m/minute.
