DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Halloysite clay doped graphene aerogel comprises halloysite as skeletal support structure and graphene as sheet-shaped crosslinked structure. The halloysite clay doped graphene aerogel is a tent-shaped aerogel of three-dimensional network system, having porosity as high as 90-98%, apparent density of 0.095-0.098 g/cm3, average specific surface area of 200-300 m2/g, hole volume is 0.5-0.8 ml/g, average hole diameter is 12-15 nanometers and average coefficient of heat conductivity is 0.015-0.025 Watts/m-Kelvin. The preparation of halloysite clay doped graphene aerogel involves adding 1-10 pts. wt. modified halloysite to graphene oxide suspension and fully stirring to obtain uniform mixed solution. The graphene oxide suspension is prepared by Hummer's method. The modified halloysite is prepared by mixing 5-10 parts of natural halloysite and 1-3 parts of modifier isooctyl triethoxysilane, uniformly dispersing in an aqueous solution of ethanol, heating to 60-80 degrees C with magnetic stirring for 1 hour. The aqueous ethanol solution, comprises ethanol and water in volume ratio of (1-2):(8-10). The mixed solution is taken in a hydrothermal reaction vessel, sealed, and hydrothermally reacted at 160-200 degrees C for 1 hour to obtain black blocky halloysite clay graphene hydrogel which is subjected to supercritical drying at 40-50 degrees C under pressure of 5-12 megaPascals for 8 hours to obtain halloysite clay doped graphene aerogel.
