NOVELTY - The method for achieving a uniform particulate type deposition of functionalized graphene platelets on carbon fiber fabric, involves: preparing an aqueous solution comprising a magnesium salt and a solvent; subjecting the aqueous solution to sonication to obtain a sonicated solution; dispersing functionalized graphene platelets in the sonicated solution to prepare a suspension solution; sonicating the suspension solution to obtain a uniformly dispersed solution; immersing a pre-deposited carbon fiber fabric into the uniformly dispersed solution to achieve an immersed carbon fiber fabric; performing sonication-assisted electrophoretic deposition on the immersed carbon fiber fabric; and drying the carbon fiber fabric. USE - Method for achieving a uniform particulate type deposition of functionalized graphene platelets on carbon fiber fabric, which is useful in a vacuum assisted resin transfer molding laminate (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides a faster uniform deposition of functionalized graphene platelets on carbon fiber fabric. The uniform particulate type deposition on carbon fiber fabrics facilitates efficient impregnation of resins during composite manufacturing as well as increases interphase thickness of fibers, thus improving mechanical properties of the composites.
