NOVELTY - Preparing reduced graphene oxide with high specific capacitance, comprises (1) preparing graphene oxide by Hummers method, (2) adding graphene oxide in N,N-dimethylformamide to dispersion of polystyrene sulfonate aqueous solution or polyvinylpyrrolidone aqueous solution, and then heating, centrifuging the mixture, then washing, dispersing the obtained product in water, (3) dropping the polystyrene sulfonate-graphene oxide solution on glassy carbon electrode surface and air drying to obtain working electrode, and then restoring. USE - The method is useful for preparing reduced graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is capable of simply preparing the reduced graphene oxide with high specific capacitance and reduced environment pollution. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing reduced graphene oxide with high specific capacitance, comprises (1) preparing graphene oxide (GO) by Hummers method, (2) adding 1 mg/ml of graphene oxide in N,N-dimethylformamide to dispersion of 5 ml of 0.01 g/ml of polystyrene sulfonate (PSS) aqueous solution or 5 ml of 0.01 g/ml of polyvinylpyrrolidone aqueous solution, and then heating to 70-120 degrees C for 8 hours, centrifuging the mixture, then washing for 3 times, dispersing the obtained product in water to obtain polystyrene sulfonate-graphene oxide solution, (3) dropping the amount of PSS-GO solution on glassy carbon electrode surface, then air drying to obtain a working electrode, taking saturated calomel electrode (SCE) as a reference electrode, molybdenum wire as a counter electrode and 1M potassium chloride as an electrolyte solution and restoring PSS-GO solution at a constant electric potential of -1.2 V for 5 minutes to obtain reduced graphene oxide, and (4) characterizing the capacitance of the reduced graphene oxide at a scanning speed of 5 mV/second, where the specific capacitance is up to 387 F/g and the capacitance value is greater than 94% of the initial capacitance value.
