NOVELTY - Preparing metallic graphene cathode material comprises mixing prepared graphene oxide with ammonium molybdate, carrying out hydrothermally reaction to obtain a 1T- molybdenum disulfide/graphene composite having layered three-dimensional structure. USE - The cathode material is useful for lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode material: has high reversible capacity, ultra-long cycle life, excellent coulomb efficiency and high rate performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) battery comprising metallic graphene cathode material; and (2) preparing cathode material of lithium ion battery comprising mixing 1T-molybdenum disulfide/graphene composite material, acetylene black and carboxymethylated cellulose in a mass ratio of 1-8:1:1, dissolving in a solution of ethanol and water in a mass ratio of 1:1-2.5, stirring and then drying to obtain cathode material of lithium ion battery.
