NOVELTY - A pitch-type carbon short fiber filler has flat surface observed by scanning electron microscope and graphene sheet closed structure at the end observed by transmission electron microscope. The pitch-type carbon short fiber filler has average fiber diameter (D1) of more than 2 mu m to 7 mu m or less. The ratio of fiber diameter distribution (S1) of the pitch-type carbon short fiber filler with respect to average fiber diameter (D1) is 3-20%. USE - Pitch-type carbon short fiber filler is used for resin composition for forming molded products used for electromagnetic wave shielding material, heat radiating material and heat exchanger (all claimed). Can also be used for components used for semiconductor package, heat sink, heat spreader, die pad, printed wiring board, cooling fan, heat pipe, motor vehicle and connector. ADVANTAGE - The pitch-type carbon short fiber filler has excellent thermal conductivity and moldability.
