NOVELTY - The thermal and electrical conducting apparatus comprises a few layer graphene film having a thickness D, where D less than or equal to 1 nm, and carbon nanotubes crystallographically aligned with the few-layer graphene film. The few-layer graphene film is provided on a substrate, which is made from an insulator, a metal and a material. The carbon nanotubes demonstrate three distinct histogram peaks at angles of -60 degrees , 0 degrees and +60 degrees in relation to any of the peaks. USE - The thermal and electrical conducting apparatus is useful for improved crystallographic control over the construction, orientation and placement of carbon nanotubes, which are useful for fuel cell or battery electrodes and super capacitor electrodes. ADVANTAGE - The thermal and electrical conducting apparatus permits very good electrical and thermal contact between the nanotubes and the few-layer graphene sheet thus providing high density and surface-volume ratio and good electrical conductivity throughout the electrode. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method of growing carbon nanotubes on a few-layer graphene film.
