NOVELTY - A visible light responded photocatalyst comprises bismuth vanadate and graphene which are compounded at one half -1 divide by 5 mass ratio to form a composite photocatalyst. USE - Visible light responded bismuth vanadate-graphene composite photocatalyst used in, e.g. sewage treatment. ADVANTAGE - The photocatalyst is highly economical. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the visible light responded photocatalyst, comprising (A) ultrasonically dispersing the graphite oxide into a mixed solution of water and ethanol; (B) stirring the bismuth vanadate and ammonium metavanadate into ethanol in equal volumes; (C) mixing the system obtained in step (A) with the mixture obtained in step (B), adjusting the mixed system to alkali system, stirring; (D) transferring the reaction system in step (C) to a hydrothermal reactor for hydrothermal reaction; (E) centrifugally separating, cleaning and drying the product to obtain a leaf-shaped bismuth vanadate-graphene composite photocatalyst.
