NOVELTY - The method involves preparing a first solution by dispersing a two-dimensional carbon carrier in an alcohol solvent. A second solution is prepared by adding and mixing a metal precursor to the first solution. Metal nanoparticles are supported to have a diameter of 1.0-5.0 nm on a two-dimensional carbon carrier by applying microwaves to the second solution. USE - Method for producing catalyst for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) used in polymer electrolyte fuel cell (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst for PEMFC prepared according to the manufacturing method increases the efficiency of the catalyst by supporting a transition metal, which is a catalyst material, in uniform nanometer-sized particles on a two-dimensional carbon support, while increasing the amount of the supported transition metal. The catalyst is optimized in quantity, has excellent performance, and has low production cost. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: a catalyst for PEMFC; and a polymer electrolyte fuel cell.
