NOVELTY - Impregnate having antistatic properties comprises carbon-based particles, preferably carbon nanotubes or graphene, at least one silane compound (I), and at least one substituted silane compound (II). USE - The impregnate is useful as force impregnate and/or decorative impregnate in laminates and wood-based panel for coating wood-based panels, impregnating resin and/or coating paper, preferably decorative, kraft, overlay and base paper (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The impregnate provides laminates which is suitable for production of modern furniture parts, floors and other surfaces. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Impregnate having antistatic properties comprises carbon-based particles, preferably carbon nanotubes (CNT) or graphene, at least one silane compound of formula (R1aSiX(4-a)) (I), and at least one substituted silane compound of formula (R3cSiX(4-c)) (II). X = H, OH or a hydrolyzable radical, preferably halo, alkoxy, carboxy, amino, monoalkylamino, dialkylamino, aryloxy, acyloxy or alkylcarbonyl; R1 = organic radical, preferably alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl (optionally substituted by -O or -NH-); R1 = hydroxy, amino, monoalkylamino, carboxy, mercapto, alkoxy, aldehyde, acrylic, acryloxy, methacrylic, methacryloxy, cyano, isocyano or epoxy groups, preferably epoxy, ether, acrylic, acryloxy, methacrylic, methacryloxy, amino or alkoxy; a = 0, 1, 2, 3, preferably 1 or 2; R3 = non-hydrolyzable organic radical, preferably alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl; and c = 1, 2, 3, or 4, preferably 1, 2 or 3. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) producing impregnate, comprising (a) providing a resin suspension containing carbon-based particles, at least one silane compound (I), and optionally at least one substituted silane compound (II), (b) providing a paper layer, (c) impregnating the paper layer with the resin suspension, preferably in an impregnation channel, and/or coating the paper layer with the resin suspension, and (d) drying the impregnated and/or coated paper layer; and (2) wood-based panel comprising at least one carrier plate and at least one impregnate with antistatic properties arranged on at least one side of the carrier plate.
