NOVELTY - A polymer composition comprises homogeneous dispersion containing graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide and a polymer immiscible in poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT), P3HT, and 1-(3-methoxycarbonyl)propyl-1-phenyl(6,6)C61 (PCBM). USE - A polymer composition for forming active layer of solar cell or hydrogen fuel cell (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polymer composition optimizes the power conversion efficiency of organic polymer solar cells and proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The addition of graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide organizes the polymer structure of the composition, which increases the performance of the polymer structure. By organizing the structure and increasing the area where electrons can be generated, the graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide improve the efficiency of solar cells and fuel cells that include the composition. The compositions create a usable organic polymer solar cell that can deliver significant energy production without high costs of solar-grade silicon and increase the power the power output of a proton exchange fuel cell membrane. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) polymer composition for forming active layer of solar cell or hydrogen fuel cell comprising homogeneous dispersion which contains GO or RGO and sulfonated polystyrene (PSS) or para-methoxy-N-methylamphetamine (PMMA), P3HT, and PCBM; and (2) preparation of polymer composition which involves forming homogeneous dispersion containing GO or RGO and a polymer immiscible in P3HT, adding P3HT to homogeneous dispersion to form 1st mixture, mixing 1st mixture, adding PCBM to 1st mixture to form 2nd mixture, and mixing 2nd mixture.
