NOVELTY - Preparing modified phenolic resin fiber comprises (i) mixing the graphene-like substance and the polymeric substance, stirring to obtain mixed solution; (ii) combining the graphene with a phenolic resin in the form of a mixture of the step (i) to obtain a modified thermoplastic phenolic resin; and (iii) using the resulting modified thermoplastic phenolic resin through purifying, and melt spinning to obtain a phenolic fiber precursor, then solidifying and cross linking to obtain the modified phenolic resin fiber. USE - The modified phenolic resin fiber is useful as a reinforcing material, a flame retardant material, a heat insulating material, a cushioning material, a phenolic carbon fiber, and/or an electrode materials (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method can creatively adding phenolic resin form of graphene mixed with polymer, solve the problem that the simple addition of the graphene easily agglomeration and the dispersibility is improved, improves the intensity, toughness and electrical performance of the phenolic fiber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for (1) modified phenolic resin fiber is prepared by the above mentioned method; and (2) electrode composite material prepared by carbonizing the above prepared phenolic resin fiber.
