NOVELTY - Polymeric composition comprises a copolymer having two separate recurring units, a first recurring unit and a second recurring unit both having the formula, given in the specification, where the value of the subscript x ranges from 2-5000, subject to the limitation that the value of the subscript y ranges from 2-5000. The ratio of x:y ranges from 1:99 to 29:71. The polymeric composition is semicrystalline having an inherent solution viscosity greater than 0.3 deciliter/gram (dL/g), a Tg greater than 180degrees Celsius, a Tc less than 340degrees Celsius, a Tm less than 400degrees Celsius, and an enthalpy of melting endotherm (DeltaHm) greater than 10 joules/gram (J/g) and less than 55 J/g, where semicrystalline copolymer crystallizes from a melt at a cooling rate of from 5-200 degrees Celsius/minute. USE - Semicrystalline poly(aryl ether ketone) copolymer compositions are used in high pressure and high temperature environment such as oil and gas exploration and extraction. ADVANTAGE - The semicrystalline poly(aryl ether ketone) copolymer compositions hasS improved heat resistance and chemical resistance.
