NOVELTY - A biodegradable polymer composite material comprises biodegradable polymer matrix material and graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods. The graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods are filled in biodegradable polymer matrix material. The mass ratio of biodegradable polymer matrix material and graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods is 100:(0.1-10). The biodegradable polymer matrix material comprises polycarbonate or poly(butylene adipate/terephthalate). USE - Biodegradable polymer composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The biodegradable polymer composite material has low glass transition temperature and excellent mechanical property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of biodegradable polymer composite material, which involves dispersing silicon carbide nanorods in hydrogen peroxide solution to obtain dispersion, heating and reflowing dispersion, cooling reaction product, washing and drying product to obtain surface-hydroxylated silicon carbide nanorods, dispersing surface-hydroxylated silicon carbide nanorods in aqueous solution of graphene oxide to obtain uniformly-dispersed silicon carbide-graphene oxide dispersion, depositing silicon carbide-graphene oxide dispersion, forming upper layer saturated silicon carbide-graphene oxide dispersion by sedimentation and drying upper layer to obtain oxidized graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods, dispersing biodegradable polymer matrix material with oxidized graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods in organic solvent to obtain biodegradable polymer composite material dispersion, mixing biodegradable polymer composite dispersion and water to obtain precipitate, filtering, washing and drying precipitate. In biodegradable polymer composite dispersion, the mass ratio of biodegradable polymer matrix material and graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods is 100:(0.1-10). The mass ratio of biodegradable polymer matrix material with respect to total mass of graphene-coated silicon carbide nanorods and organic solvent is 1-1 g/50 mL.
