NOVELTY - A core-shell structure (10) comprises a core particle (11) comprising lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickel cobalt oxide, lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide, or lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide, and an organic-inorganic composite layer (14) comprising a nitrogen-containing hyperbranched polymer and an ion-conducting material formed on a surface (12a) of the core particle for encapsulating the core particle, where the ion-conducting material is a lithium-containing linear polymer including an ion-conducting segment or a modified Prussian blue including an ion-conducting group. USE - Core-shell structure used in formation of electrode used as cathode for metal-ion battery, such as lithium-ion battery (all claimed) for electric vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The core-shell structure has excellent structural stability, chemical resistance, and ion-conducting properties, and provides battery with excellent cycle characteristics, performance, and durability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) An electrode, which comprises the core-shell structure, (2) A metal-ion battery, which comprises a cathode, an anode and a separator between the electrodes, where the cathode comprises the core-shell structure, and (3) An ion-conducting material, which comprises a lithium-containing linear polymer of formula (I).
