NOVELTY - Producing bismuth graphene oxide, comprises (a) oxidizing graphite, and (b) reacting graphene oxide produced in the step (a) with bismuth nitrate. USE - Bismuth graphene oxide is useful for adsorbing iodine (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is economical, and removes released iodine. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) adsorbing iodine, comprising adsorbing iodine using bismuth graphene oxide; and (2) adsorption process, comprising adsorbing iodine using a fixed-bed column filled with bismuth graphene oxide.
