NOVELTY - Sodium ion battery cathode material comprises tin and an organic complexing agent to form complex. The complex is compounded with 2-10 wt.% graphene. The molar ratio of the tin to the organic complexing agent is 1:1-2. The graphene is a single layer or multiple layers (less than ten layers). USE - Used as sodium ion battery cathode material. ADVANTAGE - The material: can slow down the volume expansion effect of tin; has a certain degree of flexibility and high cycle stability; absorbs the mechanical stress; and prevents the particles from breaking during the charge and discharge process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing sodium ion battery cathode material, comprising (i) adding the tin salt aqueous solution into the organic complexing agent aqueous solution under stirring, and adding graphene to obtain a mixed solution and (ii) adding the mixed solution into a hydrothermal reaction kettle, reacting at a certain temperature for a certain period of time, filtering, washing and drying after the reaction.
