ADVANTAGE - The lithium ion battery has excellent cycle stability, rate capability and charge and discharge characteristics at high current density, and high specific capacity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A lithium ion battery comprises a cathode material made of cathode active material comprising reduced graphene oxide/layered metal phosphate composite material (rGO/(M(HPO4)2), where M is germanium, tin, lead, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, molybdenum, manganese, aluminum, zinc, chromium or iron), acetylene black and polyvinylidene fluoride. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of lithium ion battery.
