USE - The catalyst is useful for removing heavy metals and/or methyl blue in wastewater (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: produces oxidation and reduction substances under visible light; has high reducing ability for heavy metal chromium, obvious degradation and removal ability for organic matter; the obtained product is easy to recover and environmentally friendly regeneration. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing network magnetic iron(II,III) oxide/graphene oxide/zinc oxide catalyst comprises (i) dissolving iron(III) chloride hexahydrate, sodium acetate and 1,6-hexanediamine in ethylene glycol, stirring for 1-2 hours, keeping the temperature at 190-200 degrees C for 8-12 hours, washing at least for 3 times with water under the action of a magnet, carrying out vacuum drying to obtain iron(II,III) oxide nanoparticles, (ii) dispersing the graphene oxide in water, adding zinc acetate, continue to stirring under ultrasound treatment for at least 30 minutes, raising the temperature from 60-65 degrees C, stirring the reaction for 2-4 hours, adding solid sodium hydroxide, and increasing the temperature to 90-95 degrees C, stirring the reaction for 4-6 hours, and lowering the temperature to 40-50 degrees C, adding iron(II,III) oxide nanoparticles obtained in step (i) and ultrasonically dispersing for at least 30 minutes, adding the silane coupling agent dropwise while stirring continuously for 30-60 minutes, washing with water at least for 3 times under magnetic field and vacuum drying. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for use method of treating heavy metals and/or methyl blue in the wastewater comprising adjusting the pH of the wastewater to 4-8, and adding 50-80 mg reticulated magnetic iron(II,III) oxide/graphene oxide/zinc oxide per 100 ml wastewater to be treated catalyst, adding reticulated magnetic graphene oxide to wastewater, and treating for 3-6 hours to complete the removal of heavy metals in wastewater.
