NOVELTY - Modified material comprises amorphous carbon and 0.1-10 wt.% carbon point. The diameter of the carbon point is 3-50 nm. The carbon point is distributed on the amorphous carbon surface and/or interior. USE - The modified material is useful in preparation of sodium ion battery cathode material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The modified material preparation method grows carbon dots in situ on the surface of amorphous carbon can induce different SEI films during the sodium storage process, while the carbon dots grown inside the amorphous carbon are conducive to electronic conduction and ion diffusion thus improves the first coulombic efficacy and specific capacity of sodium-ion batteries. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing modified material , comprising (i) subjecting the activated carbon point carbon source and the acid-treated amorphous carbon source are subjected to solvothermal treatment, baking or microwave radiation treatment, so that the carbon point grows in situ on the surface of the amorphous carbon precursor or amorphous carbon and/or internally to obtain an amorphous carbon precursor modified by carbon dots; and (ii) placing the carbon dot-modified amorphous carbon precursor in a protective atmosphere, heating until the carbon dot carbon source is completely carbonized, and taking out after natural cooling to obtain modified material.
