NOVELTY - Continuous preparation of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)/graphene oxide (GO) composite hydrogel microspheres, comprises: (a) preparing graphene oxide dispersion in deionized water using Hummers method and ultrasonic peeling to obtain GO suspension; (b) dissolving CMC in deionized water at 60 degrees C under constant stirring to obtain CMC solution; (c) dissolving citric acid (CA) in deionized water to obtain aqueous solution of CA; (d) mixing GO suspension, CMC aqueous solution and CA aqueous solution; and (e) preparing CMC/GO composite hydrogel microspheres. USE - The method is useful in continuous preparation of CMC/GO composite hydrogel microspheres, which are useful in an industrial wastewater for removal of organic dyes, and heavy metal ions adsorption, and sustained release of drugs (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method can be performed in a simple and fast manner (claimed).
