NOVELTY - The production of graphene oxide involves adding hydrogen peroxide to surfactant in mass ratio of 1 g:(45-55) ml, stirring, adding carbonaceous material, stirring evenly, placing the mixture under UV light irradiation, introducing ozone, carrying out ultrasonic vibration treatment for 0.5-10 hours, adding sulfuric acid to reaction solution to adjust pH to 2-5, slowly adding ferrous iron reagent, stirring, stirring at 60-90 degrees C for 0.5-5 hours to obtain reaction mixture, filtering, washing filter residue, adding pure water, ultrasonic stripping and vacuum drying. USE - Production of graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables production of graphene oxide at low cost by simple and environmentally-friendly process, and effectively reduces the use of oxidant. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The production of graphene oxide involves adding 5-44% concentration of hydrogen peroxide to surfactant in mass ratio of 1 g:(45-55) ml, stirring, adding carbonaceous material, stirring evenly, placing the mixture under UV light irradiation, introducing ozone, carrying out ultrasonic vibration treatment for 0.5-10 hours, adding sulfuric acid to reaction solution to adjust the pH to 2-5, slowly adding ferrous iron reagent, stirring, stirring at 60-90 degrees C for 0.5-5 hours to obtain reaction mixture, filtering, washing filter residue to neutral, adding pure water, ultrasonic stripping, vacuum drying. The carbonaceous material is natural flake graphite, intercalated graphite, expandable graphite, expanded graphite, graphene nanosheets, activated carbon, carbon black, carbon nanotubes, and mesocarbon microspheres. The mass ratio of surfactant, carbonaceous material and ferrous iron reagent is 1:(2-3):(1-3).
