NOVELTY - Multilayer graphene (101) comprises graphenes (103) stacked in a layered manner, where the graphenes comprise a six-membered ring composed of carbon atoms, a poly-membered ring which is a seven or more-membered ring composed of carbon atoms, and an oxygen atom bonded to one of the carbon atoms in the six-membered ring and the poly-membered ring, where an interlayer distance (105) between adjacent graphenes of the graphenes is greater than 0.34 nm and less than or equal to 0.5 nm. USE - The multilayer graphene is useful in power storage device (claimed), which is useful for power supplies of a variety of electric appliances, where the power storage device includes display devices, lighting devices, desktop personal computers and laptop personal computers, image reproduction devices which reproduce still images and moving images stored in recording media such as digital versatile discs, mobile phones, portable game machines, portable information terminals, e-book readers, video cameras, digital still cameras, high-frequency heating appliances such as microwave ovens, electric rice cookers, electric washing machines, air-conditioning systems such as air conditioners, electric refrigerators, electric freezers, electric refrigerator-freezers, freezers for preserving DNA and dialyzers. ADVANTAGE - The multilayer graphene can prevent dispersion of the positive electrode active materials or the negative electrode active materials and the collapse of the positive electrode active material layer or the negative electrode active material layer, thus the multilayer graphene has a function of maintaining the bond electrode active materials even when the volume of the positive electrode active materials or the negative electrode active materials is increased and decreased by charging and discharging. The multilayer graphene can prevent the collapse of the uneven positive electrode or negative electrode owing to its flexibility. The multilayer graphene increases the amounts of active materials in a positive electrode active material layer and a negative electrode active material layer, leading to an increase in discharge capacity of the power storage device.
