NOVELTY - System (10) comprises: refrigeration process loop; dehydration process loop; and distillation membrane module with feed chamber and permeate chamber, where the refrigeration process loop comprises: (i) first reservoir containing quantity of water soluble endothermic salt solution, the first reservoir salt solution at temperature T1, (ii) first piping system, (iii) cooling unit for absorbing heat from at least one of object or space, and transferring the heat to the salt solution thus increasing the temperature of the salt solution to T3, (iv) temperature monitoring system for measuring and comparing the temperature of the salt solution in the first reservoir and the salt solution passing through the cooling unit in the first piping system, (v) many first piping system valves operable to control flow of the salt solution within the first piping system, (vi) pump for pumping the salt solution within the first piping system between the cooling unit and the distillation membrane module. USE - System is useful for: cooling object or space; and extracting heat from an object or a space (all claimed) ADVANTAGE - The system: provides desired cooling effect that utilizes a water-soluble endothermic salt solution and pure water; and operates successfully with only a minimal amount of external energy being applied to it.
