NOVELTY - Modifying graphene oxide microsphere under various external force fields comprises e.g. (i) adding 1 g graphene to concentrated sulfuric acid, and stirring, (ii) transferring step (i) obtained solution with stirring into ultrasonic generator, ultrasonicating to obtain ultrasonicated solution, (iii) adding potassium permanganate to step (ii) obtained solution, and stirring to obtain reaction solution, (iv) diluting step (iii) obtained reaction solution with deionized water, and adding hydrogen peroxide, and (v) preparing graphene oxide. USE - The method produces modified graphene oxide microsphere useful in traffic engineering. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Modifying graphene oxide microsphere under various external force fields comprises (i) adding 1 g graphene (raw material having carbon content of 90-99 wt.%, and particle size of 10-300 mesh) to concentrated sulfuric acid having concentration of 98%, and stirring at a rotating speed of 3000 revolutions per minute for 60-240 minutes, (ii) transferring step (i) obtained solution with stirring into ultrasonic generator, ultrasonicating under power of 100-400 W to obtain ultrasonicated solution, (iii) adding 0.5-5 g potassium permanganate to step (ii) obtained solution, and stirring at 30-50 degrees C for 60-240 minutes to obtain reaction solution, (iv) diluting step (iii) obtained reaction solution with deionized water to 500 ml, and adding hydrogen peroxide having concentration of 1-10% with no bubbles, (v) measuring pH of step (iv) obtained solution with a pH test paper, estimating amount of acid required, adding dilute hydrochloric acid or dilute sulfuric acid, rinsing with a large amount of deionized water until it becomes neutral, and filtering to obtain graphene oxide, (vi) adding step (v) obtained graphene oxide into deionized water to obtain graphene oxide suspension, stirring graphene oxide suspension under ultrasonic field for 10-60 minutes using high speed dispersing homogenizer at a rotating speed of 6000-10000 revolutions per minute, then adding 50-200 ml modified liquid ethylene glycol to obtain dispersed mother liquor, centrifuging dispersed mother liquor to obtain modified graphene microchip. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included use of modified oxidized graphene microchip in styrene-butadiene-styrene modified asphalt comprising etching modified graphene oxide microchip in plasma field under power of 100-800 W for 1-20 minutes, adding into styrene-butadiene-styrene modified asphalt, stirring at 170-190 degrees C under rotating speed of 1500-3000 revolutions per minute for 30-60 minutes to obtain styrene-butadiene-styrene modified asphalt modified oxidized graphene microchip having better surface roughness and oxygen containing functional group and binding of styrene-butadiene-styrene modified asphalt and aggregate is more firm, which improves long-term durability of the road.
