NOVELTY - A tungsten catalyst comprises tungsten and sulfur in the form of sulfides, wrapped in graphene loaded on carbon paper. USE - The tungsten metal catalyst is useful for in-situ growing sulfur and graphene in electrolytic water device, chargeable metal air battery and fuel battery. ADVANTAGE - The tungsten metal catalyst is simple and economical, has high catalytic activity, stable performance, high conductivity, high theoretical capacitance, cycle stability and durability, and is applied to various oxygen evolution electrocatalysis, and is environmentally-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A tungsten catalyst comprises tungsten and sulfur in the form of sulfides, wrapped in graphene loaded on carbon paper. The catalyst is of formula: WxSy-CP, where x/y is 0-10. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the tungsten catalyst, which involves (S1) adding ammonium tungstate or sodium tungstate to a mixed solution of hydrogen peroxide and hydrochloric acid in ratio of (0.5-10) g:(1-20) ml:(5-50) ml, stirring uniformly to obtain slurry containing tungsten, (S2) soaking carbon paper in ethanol and deionized water for 5-30 minutes, ultrasonically cleaning, drying to obtain processed carbon paper, (S3) soaking processed carbon paper in slurry containing tungsten for 5-30 minutes, calcining at 250-750degrees Celsius for 5-120 minutes to obtain carbon paper loaded with tungsten oxide, (S4) feeding in tubular furnace under protection of helium gas or argon gas, supplying carbon disulfide solution, processing at 500-1000degrees Celsius for 1-5 hours and cooling to room temperature.
