▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Graphene-reinforced polyethylene terephthalate composition comprises a continuous matrix comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and a dispersed reinforcement phase comprising graphene nanoplatelets in the form of a minimal number of layers of two-dimensional mono-atomic carbon sheets. USE - Graphene-reinforced polyethylene terephthalate composition. ADVANTAGE - The composition has graphene nanoplatelets that is uniformly dispersed in PET so as to provide reinforced bulk PET, and allow for prediction of improvement in the material properties of reinforced bulk PET. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the graphene-reinforced PET involving (i) obtaining graphene nanoplatelets initially comprising a surface area, (ii) adding the graphene nanoplatelets to a solvent suitable for producing PET, (iii) ultrasonically processing the solvent and graphene nanoplatelets to cause a homogeneous dispersion of the graphene nanoplatelets within the solvent, (iv) centrifuging the solvent and graphene nanoplatelets to remove larger graphene nanoplatelets that are not suitably dispersed within the solvent, (v) decanting a supernatant solution of graphene nanoplatelets dispersed in the solvent and using the supernatant solution for in-situ polymerization of the graphene-reinforced PET.
