NOVELTY - A negative electrode waterborne slurry composition comprises a binder comprising an addition polymer comprising (a) 0.1-15 wt.% constitutional units comprising the residue of an (α ),(β )-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (b) 0.1-25 wt.% constitutional units comprising the residue of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising a hydroxyl functional group, (c) 30-90 wt.% constitutional units comprising the residue of an alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, and (d) 0.1-50 wt.% constitutional units comprising the residue of a vinyl aromatic compound, a negative electrode active material, and an aqueous medium. USE - Waterborne slurry composition used for negative electrode used in electrical storage device e.g. cell, battery pack, secondary battery, capacitor and supercapacitor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode waterborne slurry composition provides the electrical storage device with improved cycle characteristics.
