NOVELTY - Preparing graphene carbon material involves adding carbon source solution to graphene oxide solution and stirring the mixture. The mixture is transferred to stainless steel autoclave and hydrothermal synthesis is carried out at 160-200 degrees C for 8-24 hours. The mixture is cooled to room temperature. The resulting precipitate is collected by centrifugation or directly and then dried to obtain black solid. The obtained solid is sealed and mixed with graphene solution to obtain graphene carbon material, where mass ratio of carbon to graphene oxide is 15:60. USE - Method for preparing graphene carbon material used for removing heavy metal ions (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene carbon material that is hydrophilic. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene carbon material involves adding carbon source solution to graphene oxide solution and stirring the mixture. The carbon source is natural polysaccharides, polysaccharide derivatives or natural glucose and concentration of carbon source solution is 0.1-0.5 mole/liter. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for removing heavy metal ions, which involves: (A) weighing solution containing heavy metal salts, where concentration of heavy metal ion solution is 0.001-0.05 Molar; (B) adding graphene carbon material to an aqueous solution containing heavy metal ions; (C) heating at room temperature to 60 degrees C in a water bath; (D) adding hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide solution to adjust the pH value at 2-7; and (E) adding inorganic salts of heavy metals such as soluble copper salt, soluble zinc salt, soluble lead salt and soluble cadmium salt or mixed salt solution.
