NOVELTY - Water purification composite film material comprises 80-95% titanium carbide and 5-20% graphene. The sum of the mass fraction of the two components is 100%. USE - The material is useful for removing heavy metal ions in the water (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing water purification composite film material, comprising (i) adding titanium aluminum chloride into the lithium flouride hydrochloric acid solution, reacting at 35 degrees C for 24 hours, washing the resulting material with deionized water, re-dispersing in deionized water, ultrasonicating for 1 hour, centrifuging for 1 hour and taking the upper liquid to obtain titanium carbide nano-sheet colloidal solution; (ii) adding the polyethyleneimine solution into graphene oxide aqueous solution, refluxing at 90 degrees C for 2 hours, washing, centrifuging and re-dispersing the resulting graphene with deionized water to obtain graphene dispersion; (iii) adding the graphene dispersion into the titanium carbide nano sheet gel solution, stirring at room temperature for 1 hour and vacuum filtering; and (iv) immersing the composite membrane material n a hydrochloric acid solution for 24 hours and removing the excess hydrochloric acid using deionized water.
