NOVELTY - A composite cathode material comprises core and carbon layer coated on surface of core. The core comprises positive electrode active material and conductive agent dispersed on surface of positive electrode active material. USE - The composite cathode material is used for lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode material can greatly optimize the subsequent material homogenization process and improve the battery performance, and has improved conductivity, and simple preparation method that requires only minor changes to the current synthesis process of positive electrode active materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the composite cathode material comprising mixing positive electrode active material raw material, 1-15 wt.% carbon source and 1-15 wt.% conductive agent, adding water, ball milling for 1-8 hours, sand milling for 2-12 hours, spray granulating to 200-400 degrees C, increasing temperature to 600-800 degrees C at heating rate of 2-20 degrees C/minute for 5-15 hours under protective atmosphere, crushing, and sieving.
