NOVELTY - Preparation of flame retardant involves: (1) evenly stirring 2-methylimidazole and methanol solution to obtain 2-methylimidazole solution, evenly stirring zinc nitrate hexahydrate and methanol solution to obtain zinc nitrate hexahydrate solution, adding copper-loaded graphene oxide to zinc nitrate hexahydrate solution, ultrasonically dispersing for 4-6 hours, adding 2-methylimidazole solution, ultrasonically dispersing for 10-12 hours, washing with deionized water, adding deionized water, ultrasonically dispersing, adding sodium lignosulfonate aqueous solution, stirring for 60-90 minutes, and drying at 60-70°C to obtain graphene oxide grafted with ZIF-8; and (2) stirring graphene oxide grafted with ZIF-8, phosphorus-containing flame retardant and deionized water at 40-50°C for 2-4 hours, filtering, washing, and drying. USE - Preparation of flame retardant (claimed) used for preparing polymer material, paper and fiber. ADVANTAGE - The method provides flame retardant, which does not adversely affect the mechanical property of the polymer material, and improves the compatibility of graphene oxide grafted with ZIF-8 in polymer material.
