NOVELTY - The modulator has a first modulating arm (1) and a second modulating arm (2) formed with a graphite ridge-type waveguide. The graphene-ridge type waveguide is provided with a first ridge part and a second ridge part and formed with a graphene layer (8). The first ridge part is connected with the graphene layer by a first isolating layer (9). The second ridge part is connected with the graphene layer by a second isolation layer. A first positive electrode (3) and a second positive electrode (4) are arranged on the graphene layer. The first and second modulation arms are extended out of the first isolating layer. A negative electrode (5) is extended out of the graphite ridge-type waveguide. USE - Graphene Mach-Zehnder intensity modulator.
