NOVELTY - Preparation of sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite involves mixing titanium tetrachloride and ultra-pure water, adding thiourea and polyethylene glycol-600, hydrothermally reacting, centrifuging, washing, drying, obtaining sulfur-doped titania, adding potassium permanganate and graphite powder to a beaker, stirring, adding phosphoric acid, reacting, adding hydrogen peroxide, centrifuging, obtaining oxidized graphite, dispersing sulfur-doped titania and oxidized graphite in water, hydrothermally reacting and freeze-drying. USE - Preparation of sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple and environmentally-friendly preparation of sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite. The sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite enables rapid degradation of methyl orange. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite involves mixing titanium tetrachloride and ultra-pure water, adding thiourea and polyethylene glycol-600, adding resultant mixture to a hydrothermal reactor, reacting at 180 degrees C for 3 hours, centrifuging, washing using ethanol and ultra-pure water, alternately 3 times, placing resultant in an oven, drying, obtaining sulfur-doped titania, adding potassium permanganate and graphite powder to a beaker, uniformly stirring, adding phosphoric acid, stirring at 48 degrees C, placing in water bath, reacting for 12 hours, adding hydrogen peroxide, leaving still, centrifuging, stirring, obtaining oxidized graphite, ultrasonically dispersing sulfur-doped titania and oxidized graphite in ultra-pure water, adding resultant mixture to a hydrothermal reactor, reacting at 180 degrees C for 12 hours and freeze-drying at -45 degrees C for 24 hours. Also claimed is usage method of sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite for degradation of methyl orange in water, which involves preparing methyl orange solution having predetermined concentration, adding the sulfur-doped titania-graphene aerogel composite, degrading, detecting characteristic absorption peak intensity of methyl orange solution by UV-Vis spectrometer and recording time for complete degradation of methyl orange.
