NOVELTY - A nickel-phosphorus-based negative electrode composite material comprises reduced graphene oxide-supported nickel-phosphorus active material. The nickel-phosphorus active material comprises nickel phosphide and nickel(II) pyrophosphate. USE - Nickel-phosphorus-based negative electrode composite material is useful in a sodium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The nickel-phosphorus-based negative electrode composite material is easy and convenient to produce, is suitable for mass production, and has high initial discharge specific capacity, charge specific capacity and cycle stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the method for preparing the nickel-phosphorus-based negative electrode composite material, which involves (a) preparing nanorod-shaped ammonium nickel phosphate precursor by solvothermal method, (b) thermally reducing the ammonium nickel phosphate precursor to obtain nano-nickel-phosphorus material, and (c) combining nano-nickel-phosphorus material and graphene oxide to obtain the composite material.
