NOVELTY - Preparing graphite oxide comprises adding graphite, permanganate and concentrated sulfuric acid in a container, mixing in an ice bath, then placing in a water bath at 15-30 degrees C, continuing reaction for 20 minutes to 1 hour, adding cold water to the container to obtain graphite oxide containing slurry, finally adding hydrogen peroxide solution, filtering, washing and drying to obtain graphite oxide powder, where the mol ratio of cold water and concentrated sulfuric acid is 0.25-0.55:1. USE - The graphite oxide is useful for preparing graphene used in many fields of battery materials, composite materials, electronic devices and energy storage materials. ADVANTAGE - The method: reduces the consumption of raw materials; reduces the volume requirements of the reaction container; greatly increases the concentration of the slurry product. The graphite oxide can be subjected reduction process to obtain graphene with higher electrical conductivity.
