▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Reversible water-absorbing construct comprises phase change polymer exhibiting a reversible hydrophilic-hydrophobic phase transition, and at least one additional material in contact with the phase change polymer; where phase change polymer and the at least one additional material are formed as a multiple of filaments. USE - Reversible water-absorbing construct for absorbing water vapor from air and other water-laden gases for conducting chemical syntheses and dehumidification of buildings. ADVANTAGE - The reversible water-absorbing construct exhibits reversible hydrophilic-hydrophobic phase transition; and utilizes the phase change polymer, which exhibits improved water absorption capacity, and thus provides a ready supply of water in locales where conventional water purification techniques are problematic or there is not a suitable source of water that can be readily purified, and is readily applicable to remote locales or easily transportable; and exhibits rapid and significant uptake of water vapor from air or other gases, and high-capacity absorption of liquid water. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a method for forming water-absorbing constructs, which involves ejecting a homogeneous polymer blend through a spinneret; (2) a method for dewatering a water-laden gas, which involves providing a sorptive fabric or a non-woven filament mat comprising a multiple of filaments comprising a phase change polymer exhibiting a reversible hydrophilic-hydrophobic phase transition and at least one additional material in contact with the phase change polymer; and (3) a system, which comprises a sorptive fabric or a non-woven filament mat comprising a multiple of filaments comprising at least a phase change polymer exhibiting a reversible hydrophilic-hydrophobic phase transition and at least one additional material in contact with the phase change polymer.
