NOVELTY - A M40J graphite fiber surface modification method involves dispersing 2-5 mass% graphene oxide in 10-30 mass% E51-epoxy resin-acetone solution to prepare slurry. The prepared slurry is dipped with M40J fiber, and inert gas is introduced into the fiber under vacuum condition. Grafting reaction is performed on the M40J graphite fiber surface by utilizing gamma ray irradiation, where the irradiation dose rate is 6.0-10.0 kGy/h and the irradiation dose is 30-100 kGy. USE - Method for modifying M40J graphite fiber surface that is utilized in composite material. ADVANTAGE - The method enables modifying M40J graphite fiber surface with stability and reliability, in simple operation.
