NOVELTY - Single-component aqueous lithium-based inorganic zinc-rich primer comprises inorganic silicate, graphene slurry, conductive filler, zinc powder and additives. USE - The zinc-rich primer is useful for coating in steel structures of ships, containers, bridges, offshore platforms, oil storage tanks and large buildings. ADVANTAGE - The zinc-rich primer is prepared by single-component pure water, an environmentally-friendly product, subjected to brush coating, roller coating, and thick coating (160 mu m) without cracking, compatible with various topcoats (aqueous or solvent-based topcoats) after the film is cured, and is free of barriers, has no volatile organic compound emission, excellent compatibility and excellent water resistance, greatly improves the conductivity of the paint film, reduces the amount of zinc powder used by more than 50%, effectively avoids the adverse effects of uneven mixing during construction, and ensures the thickness of the coating on the edges or sharp protrusions, the cover is complete, and the surface of the cured paint film is dense and free of voids. The product is reused, where the construction operation time is not limited, the shelf life of the used product reaches 60 days, and the anticorrosive period of the onshore environment reaches 50 years. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the zinc-rich primer, involving (i) placing 20 %mass aqueous lithium silicate solution in a dispersing tank, (ii) sequentially adding deionized water, 10 %mass aqueous potassium silicate solution, aqueous silica sol solution and graphene slurry under a low-speed stirring, uniformly mixing and stirring for 30 minutes, (iii) sequentially adding defoaming agent and dispersing agent, uniformly mixing and stirring for 30 minutes to obtain a mixture, (iv) adding conductive filler and zinc powder to the mixture, controlling the stirring speed at 800 rpm and stirring for 30 minutes, (v) adding anti-settling agent and thixotropic agent, controlling the adding speed to be 100 ml/minute and dispersing at a high speed and at 800 rpm for 30 minutes, and (vi) recovering to room temperature, leaving still for 30 minutes, filtering and packaging to obtain the product.
