NOVELTY - A graphene quantum dot-ionic liquid composite is prepared by mixing graphene quantum dot and ion liquid, and purifying the mixture after reacting to obtain the graphene quantum dot-ionic liquid composite, where the graphene quantum dot-ionic liquid compound has size of the compound of 2.0-4.0 nm and lattice spacing of 0.23 nm, and the ion liquid is 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide. USE - Graphene quantum dot-ionic liquid composite for detecting hexavalent chromium (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene quantum dot-ionic liquid composite has good fluorescent property, stable fluorescent performance, selective identification ability, and fast and sensitive detection. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for detecting hexavalent chromium.
