NOVELTY - A three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based microstructure is manufactured by forming two-dimensional (2D) net (20) including panels (22) and hinges (24) in which panel includes frame and graphene-based membrane (28) supported frame (30) in which panels are connected to one another and arranged in array and hinges extends between and interconnects immediately adjacent ones of panels within array, and heating 2D net to transition of 2D net into 3D graphene-based microstructure. USE - Manufacture of three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based microstructure. ADVANTAGE - Retention of intrinsic properties of graphene-based structure is allowed. Three-dimensional graphene-based microstructure exhibits dynamic physical and chemical tuning. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based microstructure comprising panels (22) each having frame (30), graphene-based membrane supported by frame and joints which interconnect opposing edges of immediately adjacent ones of panels in polyhedral shape.
