NOVELTY - The electrochromic device has a base material (11), a color changing material layer (14), and a metal grid conductive layer (12) and a protective layer (15) set between the base material and the color-changing material layer. The metal grid conductive layer is embedded in the base material and does not protrude on the surface of the base material. The protective layer (13) is made of transparent conductive material that is electrically connected with the metal grid conductive layer. The thickness of the protective layer is less than or equal to 50 nm. USE - Electrochromic device for adjusting light transmittance as intelligent window used for automobile or building outer wall. Can also be used as character and image display device, image record, building door and window in automobile and other vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The metal grid electrode is embedded in the base material, which greatly reduces the thickness of the protective layer, the response time of the device is short, and the display effect is good.
