NOVELTY - Sulfur doped graphene nanosheet comprises graphene oxide and sulfur, where the weight ratio of graphene oxide and sulfur is 1:0.01-1:10. USE - The sulfur doped graphene nanosheet is useful as a cathode material in a lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The sulfur doped graphene sheet exhibits improved physical properties such as electrochemical performance, capacity and reversibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacturing the sulfur-doped graphene nanosheet comprising preparing a graphene oxide powder by freeze drying frozen aqueous solutions of graphene oxide, adding sulfur to the prepared graphene oxide powder to obtain a mixture, and heat treating the mixture at a temperature of 200-1500 degrees C.
