▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A composite material comprises natural fiber reinforced thermoset polymer. USE - Composite plate used for forming multilayer composite shielding system used as ballistic armor layer in personal vest for protection against firing of rifle with caliber ammunition, and in military vehicles (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material is inexpensive, and provides multilayer composite shielding system with excellent ballistic performance, lighter weight, and reduced area density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (i) manufacture of the composite material, which involves accommodating the Calotropis gigantea fruit fiber functionalized with graphene oxide, corresponding to the desired proportion of 30 vol.% within a suitable metal mold, adding epoxy resin still fluid and capping the mold; (ii) a ceramic material, which comprises alumina doped with 4 %mass niobium oxide with hexagonal geometry, and is obtained by ball milling alumina powders, niobium oxide and polyethylene glycol in liquid phase, are weighed and packed in an alumina ball mill for 12 hours, and drying in an oven at 80 degrees C for 48 hours in an oven; (iii) manufacture of the ceramic material, which involves maceration and sieving to obtain the powder, pressing under a pressure of 30 MPa, and sintering; and (iv) multilayer ballistic system, which comprises the composite plate bonded with polyurethane adhesive to a ceramic front layer, responsible for eroding the projectile and attenuating its impact.
