NOVELTY - Preparing titanium diboride (TiB2)-graphene composite cathode material involves weighing 88-95 pts. wt. TiB2 powder, 5-12 pts. wt. graphene powder, 0.2-5 pts. wt. dispersant, 1-5 pts. wt. binder and 1-10 pts. wt. humic acid, ball milling, drying, and obtaining mixed powder. The TiB2 powder has a particle diameter of 1-5 mm, and the graphene powder has a particle diameter of 1-100 micrometer. The mixed powder obtained is molded to obtain a green body. The green body is placed under an inert atmosphere, degreased at 600-900 degrees C for 16-64 hours, heated to 1300-1600 degrees C, and sintered for 5-50 hours to obtain titanium diboride (TiB2)-graphene composite cathode material. The 88-95 pts. wt. TiB2 powder, 5-12 pts. wt. graphene powder, 0.2-5 pts. wt. dispersant, 1-5 pts. wt. binder, and 1-10 pts. wt. humic acid are weighed, and the ball milled to obtain mixture. The mixture is applied to the carbon block to a thickness of not less than 0.2 mm. USE - Method for preparing titanium diboride-graphene composite cathode material for aluminum electrolysis. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare titanium diboride-graphene composite cathode material, which has better wettability, high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient and tensile mechanical strength of graphene, stronger resistance to high temperature molten salt erosion, and has high temperature structural stability.
