NOVELTY - Preparing phosphorus-containing functionalized graphene comprises (i) carrying out modified Hummers method of graphite to obtain graphene oxide, and (ii) dispersing graphene oxide in solvent having diphosphite-containing phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid and phosphorous acid and hypophosphorous acid salts and derivatives, centrifuging the product, washing, and drying to obtain black solid powder, where phosphorus-containing reagent is composed of phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid, phosphorous acid and hypophosphorous acid salts or derivatives. USE - The functionalized graphene is useful inresin reinforcement, toughening, flame retardant, thermal conductivity and conductive areas.
