NOVELTY - Negative electrode comprises a conductive substrate, and a zinc alloy layer disposed on the conductive plate containing zinc and zinc alloy having zinc and a heterogeneous element. USE - Negative electrode for aqueous zinc secondary battery. ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode suppresses corrosion and self-discharge of aqueous zinc secondary battery, and is safe and eco-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a water-based zinc secondary battery, which comprises an anode comprising a conductive substrate and a zinc alloy layer disposed on the conductive substrate and including zinc and a zinc alloy having a heterogeneous element, a separator positioned between the anode and the cathode, and water-based electrolyte; and (2) a method for manufacturing an anode for use in an aqueous zinc secondary battery, which involves preparing a plating solution containing a zinc precursor, a hetero-element precursor, and an additive, and plating a zinc alloy layer including zinc and a zinc alloy having a heterogeneous element on the conductive substrate by putting a conductive substrate and a counter electrode in the plating solution, and then applying a current to the conductive substrate and the counter electrode.
