NOVELTY - The device (100) has a substrate (110) and an electrode (120), where the electrode is arranged within the substrate. The substrate partially comprises a mesh-like structure. The electrode comprises graphene, a graphene-based material or a coating made of graphene. The mesh- like structure of the substrate comprises multiple voids of different sizes, where the voids comprise different size categories in the range of millimeter to millimeter. The voids are symmetrically distributed along a cross-section of the electrode device to provide isotropic properties of the device. The device comprises a stimulation electrode and multiple recording electrodes. USE - Electrode device for neurostimulation system. ADVANTAGE - The electrode device has improved performance with regard to the electrical properties, in particular of the electrode design, as well as providing a mechanically improved design to adapt it to the properties of human tissue by particularly enhancing flexibility and compatibility of the device.
